It is thought that the Egg Chair was inspired by the Eero Saarinen Womb Chair.
The Egg Chair’s unique shape with its winged design provides a level of privacy.
The mid century modern egg chair, which was originally cast in plaster, originated from Jacobsen’s garage. Today, there are a few differences to the original – at least with this particular high-quality reproduction – the chair has an adjustable tilt feature and is formed using fiberglass as its base. The entire chair structure is wrapped with high-density polyurethane foam padding.
