Finn Juhl Easy Chair Description
Though the Pelican Chair was designed by Finn Juhl in 1940, even by today’s modernistic standards, the graceful curves are arresting. Inspired by sculpture and modern art, the Finn Juhl Pelikan Chair exhibits a human character with an organic shape, evidenced in the welcoming embrace of the seatback.
When the design was initially introduced, critics were quick to dismiss it, but the Pelican Chair has surely become iconic not merely of Finn Juhl’s body of work alone – also of Danish design as a whole.
Hand-sewn to the frame, the upholstery is available in a variety of leathers and fabrics that range from subdued to bold hues to a plush shearling.
