Though the Finn Juhl Pelican Chair was designed back in 1940, the seat’s graceful curves are no less arresting even today. Inspired by sculpture and modern art, the Finn Juhl style chair exhibits a human character in an organic shape, evidenced in the welcoming embrace of the seatback.

When the design was first introduced critics dismissed it, but the Finn Juhl Pelikan Chair has become iconic not merely with respect to Finn Juhl’s own work, but also of Danish design as a whole.

The upholstery is hand-sewn to the frame and is available in a variety of 5 fabrics ranging from subdued to emboldened hues through to a plush shearling.
