Architect and lighting innovator Poul Henningsen originally fabricated the intricate Artichoke Lamp in 1958. The lamp, which is, in fact, a ceiling fixture, is nothing short of a classical masterpiece, and the original still hangs at Langelinie Pavillonen restaurant in Copenhagen to this day.
Take a look at the fixture from any angle and you would only ever see the staggered ‘leaves’, and never be able to witness the light bulb located in the middle.
