When should I plant roses in Arkansas?

In Arkansas, aim to plant bare-root roses either in February or during early March. This is when the roses are still dormant, though that period of dormancy is just about to end as soon as the weather becomes warmer. 

For container-grown roses in Arkansas, you can plant these at any time, even during the winter months. Ideally, container-grown roses should be planted well in advance of the period of dormancy. This allows them to become established in their new home.

Should you wish to transplant roses in your Arkansas yard, it’s the same principle as for bare-root roses. Transplant roses in February or in early March for optimal results.
